Harris explains shift in policy on key presidential election issues in exclusive interview with CNN
SAVANNAH, Georgia (CNN) -- Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Harris and running mate Tim Walz of Minnesota gave her most extensive explanation yet of some of her policy changes in an exclusive interview with CNN on November 29, including why she has changed her positions on fracking and immigration.
He said his values have not changed, but that his time as vice president has given him a new perspective on some of the country's most pressing issues.
In addition, she dismissed former President Donald Trump's comment after the Republican nomination that Ms Harris had "become black" and questioned her racial identity, calling it "the same old worn-out tactic."
Harris pledged to ban fracking on public lands as of September 2019. But by the time she was nominated as Biden's running mate, she had reversed course and voted in Congress to expand mineral leasing for fracking.
